Valentine's Baby

So, I've been meaning to post this on my blog and just remembered to do it tonight. For V-day, my sweet hubby got me a baby...a Great Dane baby that is. She is the perfect companion to our now 2 year old female Great Dane, Boo. They were fast best of friends...or more so a mother/daughter relationship. Boo looks after her and keeps her company when it is outside time for the both of them. Otherwise the baby, Olly, cries. Boo has helped tremendously with the separation anxiety that most puppies go through. I was the disciplinarian when Boo was a puppy because Bret couldn't stand to get on to her because she was so darn cute. I completely understand that now. It's hard to do, but I have to do it. There's nothing like trying to control a dog that's 135lbs...well behaved or not. I hope some of Boo's good behavior rubs off on Olly. It will certainly make my life a little easier. We've decided we're going to breed her when she gets old enough. Here are a couple of pics...one of just Olly and the other of Boo and Olly. Enjoy!

KC, MO competition

Hey Hey Friends and Family---We just got home from Emily's Jamfest competition in Kansas City, MO. What a shining star that girl is. First day they did awesome. The second day there was a major mishap during their pyramid where Emily went up and over the top of her base and smacked the floor. The true performer in her (as Anyiesa Johnson put it) jumped up without even a twitch and continued doing her job helping Anna pull her positions so that the pyramid would not be a total bust and the team did not get DQ'd. She held it together until she got to me and then broke down. My heart just broke for her. I am sooo proud of her for making the perfect split second decisions she made and realizing she had 19 other girls depending on her to pull it together. That she did! Enjoy the pic of her pulling a scorp...I just love watching her shine.

Cheer competition in St. Louis

We went to the ASC cheer competition this weekend. We stayed at the Embassy Suites and the girls LOVED it. On the first day we watched all of the teams compete and noticed one team called the Capitol City Cheer Sparkles at the very first. They brought out a teddy bear that was wearing a pink shirt that said "Miracles for Margaret" and sat the bear in front of the big blue mat facing the judges. After their routine was finished we noticed that the group of parents to the right of us were all standing clapping and most of them were crying. After a while of watching we noticed that all of the Capitol City Cheer squads were wearing pink ribbons tied on their uniforms. That night we asked some of their parents what the ribbons were for and gasped as we were told of little Margaret Romph. She is a five year old that is a member of the Sparkles team. On Friday, Jan 2nd, 2009 Sherline (Margaret's mom) was working at McDonalds when Erin (sister), Margaret and Grandma Kay came to visit her. Shortly after leaving they were in a very serious car accident. Sherline saw the ambulance and fire trucks go by her work and immediately felt sick. She called Erin and no one answered. She called Kay 's phone and was told she needed to come to the scene. When she got to the scene, they would not let her see Margaret. Erin and Grandma Kay were taken to St. Mary's to be treated and were released. Margaret was life-flighted to the University. She is suffering from severe head trama, where they had to shunt her head to release pressure. Other injuries were 2 broken femurs and a broken neck. She is in the pediatric intensive care at the University. The doctors say that it is too early to give a prognosis but if she does make it through this she will probably be paralyzed from the neck down. The extent of her head trauma is unknown at this time. A few of us parents decided to get together and see what we could do to help. I learned from talking to the parents that Sherline would be coming to the competition the 2nd day to watch another of Margaret's sisters perform. It would be the first time she had left the hospital. We had already made our minds up to go online and donate to the benefit fund, so knowing Sherline would actually be there we changed our minds. We did our best to collect donations for Margaret and ended up hand delivering over $200 to Sherline. As my good friend, Amy Slane said, "We came home with second place but we all arrived home safely." Thank you Jesus for that. If you would like to help the Romph family please feel free to visit one of their sites below.

oooh la la

Just found this picture Edward Cullen...You know you're glad I had the thought to share it with you all. Countdown to New Moon...10 months.

Baby It's Cold Outside

Shiska BOB! It is cold out side. Snow I like, ice...not so much. I'm sitting here looking out the back door at the sleet coming down. I can only imagine what it's like up on Brannon Mt/Hazel Valley. Emily has a cheer competition this weekend in St. Louis, MO. They don't cancel it either so um, yeah...not looking forward to braving the driving conditions. Now that I'm without a J.O.B, I am excited to dive back in to crafts and scrapbooking...anyone up for a session? Name the time and I'm there. You know Elkins really needs a group that meets regularly. Anyone interested?
I suppose I better get on the dinner wagon and figure out what's on the menu. I'm in the mood for Chili, but Bret turned his nose up to that for tonight. Em doesn't like chili so it's two against one.
Stay Warm and Snuggly,
Sunny

It's official...I've joined the dark side

Well peeps...it's official. I have now started a family blog so you can keep up with the Ledford's. It may be a difficult thing to do. On whose part is dependable on whether or not I'll be able to keep up with it. If I do, then it will be difficult for you all to keep up...we're a busy little trio. Anyway...my blogging journey begins now. Enjoy the posts.
